Shellshock Update
Bash bug discovered mid-day Thursday
Shellshock is the new “Bash bug” that poses a threat to all non-Windows Internet-connected devices (computers, smart phones, tablets, smart homes, etc.). Compared with its predecessor, “Heartbleed,” Shellshock received a 10 out of 10 rating for severity. However, there’s no need to panic, as the complexity level rating is low and experts are diligently working on creating “patches” to close the loophole on this flawed code. NavyArmy is staying vigilant and doing what’s necessary to protect your banking information.
Here’s what you need to do: Immediately update all Internet-connected devices and security software. The proper update for devices will be on the manufacturer’s website. At this point in time it is not safe to trust any emails that offer a patch.
