Text Scams to be Aware of

In 2024, text message scams hit over 470 million in losses according to Federal Trade Commission. Text message scams are on the rise and it is vital to know what to be aware of. Here are some common text scams to be aware of. If you are unsure about a text message you can always contact Rally by chat, online secure message, by phone or in person.  

Common text scams include:

• Fraud Alert Messages—These fake fraud alerts are sent to people warning them about issues with their banking institutions and urging them to click a link. (Rally will never send any members a link to confirm fraud or verify a payment)
• Fake Package Delivery Notices—These text claim there is an issue with your deliveries and urging the consumer to click on links to fix the issue.
• Toll Fee Scam—Text messages about unpaid tolls with a link to pay them off. If you are receiving any of those scam messages it is very important that you do not interact with the demands and notify Rally Credit Union, immediately.

If you are already a member of Rally you most likely have the APP installed on your smart phone. If you do not have the APP installed, you should install it as soon as possible.

Scammers will use a variety of tactics to trick users into sending money. Always be aware of who you give your banking information to.
