IMPORTANT NOTICE: NEW BYLAW WILL ALLOW MEMBERS TO PETITION FOR NOMINATION TO SERVE ON THE NAVYARMY BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Nomination and election of members to serve on the Board of Directors (Board) is governed by the credit union’s Bylaws and Policies & Procedures. The Board Chair selects a Nominating Committee which then proposes individuals for upcoming Board nominations.
Previously, at the Annual Meeting, the Nominating Chair announced these potential candidates and called for nominations from the floor.
A new bylaw approved by the Board in March 2015 allows members to petition for nomination prior to the annual meeting to have their name placed on the ballot at the Annual Meeting. The petition must be signed by a minimum of 500 members who are in good standing and over the age of 16 years. Nominations from the floor will no longer be accepted.
Petition packets will be available starting on October 7, 2015 at the following locations:
1.J Wayne Vann Administration Building located at 2730 Rodd Field Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78414
2.Northcross Branch located at 4015 North 10th Street, McAllen, TX 78504
Note: Candidates must pick up and sign for the petition packet in person.
The final time and date to submit completed petition packets to the Nominating Committee is 5:00pm (CST) on December 17, 2015. All petitions and applications filed by the Board Secretary upon this closing date will be reviewed and validated to ensure full compliance with the elections rules and requirements as set forth in the Rules and Instructions for the completion of the official Petition Booklet. After such review and validation, if there is more than one candidate for each position to be filled, the election shall be by voting conducted at the Navy Army Community Credit Union Annual Meeting on February 9, 2016. The Board Secretary shall cause printed ballots to be distributed to the members who are eligible to vote and attending the Annual Meeting. In such event, the election shall be determined by plurality vote. If there is only one nominee for each position to be filled, the election will be by acclamation and no election will be conducted by ballot.
